Among the most prestigious award ceremonies, IIFA Award, famously known as International Indian Film Academy Awards, is one of the most popular. 2016 was the 17th year of this award ceremony and this year the ceremony was arranged in Madrid, Spain on 25th of June 2016.

Like other years, in year 2016 too almost all B-Town celebrities gathered here to attend this extravaganza ceremony. We have noticed the glittering presence of Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Dipika Padukone, Ranveer Sing and others. This star studded show was presented by Karan Johar and Fawad Khan. Their cheerful and comic presentation made the show extremely enjoyable not only for the audience present out there but also for the audience across globe watching the event on television screens. Here is the detailed list of winners who was honored for their hard work in the bollywood industry.

  • Best picture and best director: The award for the best picture was given to Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was honored with the best director of the movie Bajirao Mastani.
  • Best actor (male and female): Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were honored for the best actor male and female accordingly for the movie Bajirao Mastani and Piku.
  • Best supporting actor (male and female): supporting actors are always the pillars of any movie and hence their hard work can never be ignored. Anil Kapoor for Dil Dhadakne Do and Priyanka Chopra for Bajirao Mastani won the awards respectively.
  • Best Actor (Negative Role): Darshan Kumar won the title for Best Actor in a negative Role for the movie NH10
  • Best comic actor: Deepak Dobriyal won the award for best comic actor for his exceptional performance in Tanu weds Manu Returns
  • Best Playback singer (male and female): Monali Thakur for her superb performance in the song Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, has won the title for best playback singer (female) whereas Papon bagged the best playback singer (male) for the song Moh Moh K Dhaage for the movie Dum Lahake Haisya
  • Best Lyrics: It is again the song, Moh Moh Ke Dhaage for which Varun Grover won the best lyricist award.
  • Priyanka Shopra was honored with the special award, Woman of the Year.
  • Best costume: The award for the best costume won by Anju Modi and Maxima Basu for the movie Bajirao Mastani
  • Best Cinematography: Sudeep Chatterjee won the award for best cinematography forBajirao Mastani
