Every artist and technicians in the film Industry from all parts of India eagerly wait for the National Film Award. This is most prestigious award for those who are prime part of any movie. Like previous year, this year too, the 63rh National Film Award was announced on 28th March 2016 and the ceremony was held on 3rd May 2016.

Our hot favorite actor, Amitabh Bacchan bagged his fourth National Award this year for the movie Piku. Previously, he was honored with National Award for the movies Agneepath, Black and Paa in the year 1990, 2005 and 2009 respectively. The award for the best movie was given to Baahubali. Sanjay Leela Bhansal bagged the esteemed National Award as best director for the movie Bajirao Mastani.

Talented actress, Kangana Ranaut has been honored with Best Actress for the movie Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Dum Laga Ke Haisha was honored as the best Hindi Film whereas Bajirao Mastani has been awarded as the best popular Hindi film. Neeraj Ghaywan for the movie Masaan has been awarded with Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film Of A Director. Remo D’Souza won the award for Best Choreographer for the song Deewani Mastani in Bajirao Mastani.

  • Pathemari has been honored with the best Malayalam film
  • Visaaranai has been awarded as the best Tamil movie and Kanche has been awarded as the best Telugu movie.
  • The award for the best Punjabi movie has been given to Chauthi Koot
  • Enemy has been awarded as the best Konkani movie.
  • Satrangi got the National Award for the best Assamese film
  • National Award for best Manupuri film has been given to Eibusu Yaohanbiyu
