61st Britannia Filmfare Awards 2016

In Bollywood, among the most prestigious awards, Filmfare is known to be the most coveted one. Like every year, in the year 2016 too we have noticed a glamorous event of 61st Britannia Filmfare Awards on 15th January 2016 in Mumbai.

The show was hosted by Bollywood superstar ShahRukh Khan and Comedy king Kapil Sharma. Their funny jokes and jovial presentation filled the environment with laughter and cheers. The auditorium was crammed with all eminent persons from the Bollywood industry. Beside the entertaining anchoring of Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Sharma, the invitees hugely enjoyed the magical performances of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Salman  Khan, Jacqueline Farnandez. In between these performances, the winners for various categories also announced.

The winners for the best costume were Anju Modi and Maxima Basu for the superhit movie Bajirao Mastani. Shajit Koyeri won the trophy for the best sound design for the movie Talvar. Sujeet Sawant, Saloni Dhatrak and Sriram Iyenger won the award for best production design for the movie Bajirao mastani. Now, it was the time to honor Pandit Birju Maharaj for his excellent choreography in the movie Bajirao Mastani for the song Mohe Rang Do Laal.

Manu Anand won the award for the best cinematography for the movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Action is always a prime part in most of the movies today and the award for the best action for the year 2016 was awarded to Sham Kaushal for Bajirao Mastani. Singer and lyricist, Anupam Roy won the award for best background score for the movie Piku. Prana studio won the best VFZ award for the movie Bombay Velvet.

Without music, the Indian movies can never get its’ completeness. The award for the best playback singer female for the year 2016 was won by Shreya Ghoshal for her amazing performance in the song Deewani Mastani for the movie Bajirao Mastani. Arijit Sing was honored with the award best playback singer male for the sond Sooraj Dooba Hai from the movie Roy. Awards for best lyrics and best music was given to Irshad Kamil for Agar tum Saath ho from the movie Tamasha and Ankit Tiwari, Amal malik and Meet Bros Anjjan for the movie Roy, respectively. Amitabh Bachhan was awarded with Critic’s choice best actor for the movie Piku and Piku was declared as the critic’s choice best film of 2016. Deepika bagged Best Actress Award for her amazing performance in Piku while Ranveer got Best Actor Award for  his flawless acting in  Bajirao Mastani.
